Breathing Issues?

I don't really want to call my doctor about yet another issue but I will probably have to. Lately I've had trouble getting a deep enough breath. Sometimes it's worse than at others. is this an MS thing? Anyone else having this trouble? It's not on exertion, it's just pretty much all the time. What do you do about it? I really don't want to go on oxygen. Both of my husband's parents spent the last years of their lives on oxygen (neither of them smoked, they just had different diseases that affected their lungs - pulmonary fibrosis and sjogren's). I think it would be so hard on my husband if his wife ended up on oxygen as well. But I'll do what I have to do if I get uncomfortable enough. I'm hoping it'll get better but wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

  1. When fatigue comes on strong I feel like I can't get enough air, very similar to what you describe. I tend to sigh a lot and feel I NEED to get as much air into my lungs as I can. When this happens, I rest as much as possible.

    1. Am new to this forum and wish to delete above comment because it cut 1/2 of it off. I mentioned that I was sorry to the ladies who are also struggling with breathing problems and much more, guess it was too long but I saw nothing where I was running out of characters, nor can I find a delete comment section.
I tried to go back and modify it by erasing it all and that didn't even work. My apologies for the nonsensical, 1/2 post

      1. Hi seairra! I deleted your post as you asked! Don't feel like you need to apologize. Things like that happen from time to time. We're glad to have you here! Thanks, Erin, Team Member.

        1. I have been diagnosed with MS for 32 years. I have experienced breathing problems for most of that time. I have never connected it to MS. I have always thought it was due to anxiety. I starting taking meds for anxiety but continued to have the issue of feeling like I could not get a deep breath. I just recently realized that this might be a symptom. I will mention it to my neurologist when I see him.
