"Irritated! I am so done with police officers pulling me over because they suspected I was drunk! I have specifically watched other drivers ahead of me and they don't stay perfectly within the lines either. I am always alert, conscious and careful when I drive. I try to let others drive whenever possible but still I get policemen who pull me over suspecting either that I am drunk or answering a complaint from a "concerned citizen" that I am drunk (or high) because of the way I walk. I was married to a police officer for 25 years so I've heard many stories. I wish in the police officer training they would include a unit for people with medical issues. I know that drug and alcohol use is a big concern, but I cannot walk a straight line or follow their finger to pass a drunk test. So they assume that I'm drunk! Why don't they smell alcohol on my breath? Even when I have informed the officer that I have MS they never know what that is. The police force is solely foused on "keeping our streets clear of drivers under the influence" that they seem all too willing to assume I are not safe because you are under the influence."
