Is your insurance company being billed almost 400% of the retail cost of Ocrevus?

I am receiving Ocrevus infusions at a local MS Infusion Center affiliated with a reputable hospital. In addition to the cost of the infusion, the Center is billing my insurance company 375% of the retail cost of the drug. In an attempt to control costs, my company has directed my pharmaceutical insurance to supply the drug for infusion, presumably at a much lower rate. However, there is no infusion center within 50 miles that will accept Ocrevus from a 3rd party pharmacy. I am concerned that Ocrevus is going to be priced out of reach and withdrawn from the formulary.

  1. Yikes! Thank you bringing this to the community's attention, jeffluner! I would be interested to see what some of our other community members have to say about this. I hope you are able to stay at your current infusion location. I wish the insurance situation in our country were more transparent and reasonable, but I suppose that's a topic for another day (and another thread!).

    Thank you for sharing this!
