Loving someone with MS...

The uncertainty of having MS must be multiple times worse for the people who love someone with MS. They know precisely what the uncertainties of MS are.

The difference is that we living with MS, at least know what MS is doing to us at any specific time or day. Or rather, we know, feel, and experience the consequences of what MS is doing to us.

Imagine living with all the uncertainties of MS, without knowing that...

Remember to thank them for their understanding, support, and love.
It cannot be easy spending a life with (me) someone with MS.

Kalahari, your story is beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. Even on my really good days when you can almost forget that you have m.s., if such a thing is possible, I see the look of concern in my husband's eyes like, "how long will this last?" I've seen him break down crying, and carry a burden and a weight that I long to take from him. The future, the uncertainties I know are always in the forefront of his mind. I WILL remember to thank him for his understanding, support and love. Thank you for the gentle reminder!

As someone deeply in love with someone with MS, I can say in no uncertain terms that there is no comparison: having it is MUCH harder. We share all of the uncertainties. We share the dread. We share the tears and all of the feelings. What we don't share is the pain, the fog, the falls, the muscle "hugs" that can keep one awake and in pain... my love has the hardest life I know. So I work very hard to make her days as amazing as possible. Yes, helping with the day-to-day is important, yet I want to crank it up to 11 - one higher. Every smile is hard-won. Every laugh brings me tears of joy. Whenever I can find a way to relieve pain, no matter how small, makes me almost giddy. Yes, sometimes it's difficult, but it's NOTHING compared to what she goes through. It is my honor and privilege do be there for her/with her. I need no applause or recognition. Just that laugh. Just that smile. They are everything to me.

I try to understand what it's like having MS and being married to me who also has MS. It's complicated, to say the least.

Thank you for this, my husband has been so supportive towards. The forgetfulness, tiring nights, the depression and anxiety. I need to thank him for being there.
