1.5 or 3 MRI

I had one lesion on my brain mri in the callosal septal interface a few months back and none in the spine. I’ve heard spinal ones can be hard to show up and that 3 level MRIs can be more accurate. Is it worth it to get the brain and spine tskenagsin on the 3? Thanks!

  1. Hi , I know that you asked this question a few years ago, but just in case someone else has the same question here's some information about MRI. A 3-tesla MRI machine is stronger than a 1.5-tesla machine. The 3-tesla or 3T machine will produce more detailed and sharper imagines. This is important for the diagnosis and monitoring of MS. The next stronger MRI machine is a 7-tesla; these are primarily found at research centers.

How are you doing now? Did you have follow-up MRI scans that showed additional lesions and eventually receive an MS diagnosis?
