Anybody ride motorcycles still
Hey there guys,
My name is Robert Welsh. I'm 29 years old and currently being treated for my first big flare up of ms at swedish medical center. I don't have a 100 percent diagnosis as of yet but should shortly. My symptoms started in my hands with numbness in every digit and progressed to lhermittes sign which is very odd for those of you who haven't experienced it. These signs where followed by a intense brain fog and forgetfulness and week right leg. I'm super optimistic about this. I'm not going to let this thing take me down. I love motorcycles and more specifically dirt bikes. I started my addition at the age of 8 and eventually got into racing motorcross. Is there any of us out there that still ride? I understand and am okay with the fact that I might need to calm it down a little bit as far as how agressive I ride. But I most certainly not going to give it up completely.
@Firebob I so appreciate your spirit, optimism, and love of the sport. Although I was never involved in motocross or any sport that has two wheels, your story is like so many others I've read who are dedicated athletes and enthusiasts and whose MS threatens to limit or totally end their participation.

It sounds as though you are in touch with how MS is affecting your body, and that's important to track when you engage in physically punishing sports. I hope you'll take care, be safe, and have fun!

hi Bob I used to ride a motorcycle I am a 50-year-old now woman and I loved riding I have been diagnosed with MS since I am 36 I've known in my heart that this has been going on since my early twenties but I had been played with like doctors like to do because they don't like to put a stamp on yet just in case you don't have it and all it takes is one little final you got an answer but they don't like to leave you with an answer with that quick answer I should say I'm sorry they like to tell you well it could be those it could be that even though the first MRI says multiple sclerosis lesions in the brain also in Sea spine and Alpine not Alpine sorry to see spine. But back to motorcycling ride and ride until you can't ride no more because I hated the day that I had to make the decision was it worth somebody else getting hurt because of my foggy head or my lack of strength or my lack of concentration which you think you are all there but sometimes we're not and that is part of the disease but yet every one of us that has MS it's like a snowflake not one is the same because it all depends on where the myelin starts getting eaten by our own body I have read and read until I have been blue in the face and it just makes you more stressed take one day at a time and live it to its fullest and love life because it's the only one we get so God bless you Bob and enjoy your ride ride on Hi there I was diagnosed in 2004 with RRMS and I have had a motorcycle since I was 16 . That's when I first got my license after that I have had dirt bikes , trails bikes and street bikes . I am 66 years old and I sold my bike this year because I just had to give it up I couldn't trust my legs riding it so I know where you're coming from my friend there Comes A Time that you have to make changes and accept those changes so be well and and stay strong my friend
