Diagnosed at 70!!

Finally have answers to why my legs are so tired the past 12 yrs. I have PPMS. My legs feel like 1000lb weights. My balance is terrible. If i excerize them, they feel like noodles. I do not have pain. I am lucky. Its only my legs. My vision, upper strength isn’t affected. I now need a push cart to walk alone. Everyone wants me to try CBD oil and i have 3 different times. Nothing. I have tried the drug Ampyra. Nothing. I don’t know what to do next. Gonna try eliminating sugar and carbs next. I feel like a hopeless cripple now.

  1. Thinking of you - thank you for sharing with us here. I'm sorry your legs have been so tired for 12 years! Please know that you're not alone, and that we and the community are here for you. Have you spoken with your doctor or care team about next steps? You are not alone in this. Warmly, Margot, MultipleSclerosis.net Team

    1. I am so sorry to hear that you were recently diagnosed. I know exactly what you meant that your legs felt like 1000 pound weights. I remember when I was in my 20s and kept on referring to my legs as feeling like they were in blocks of ice or stuck in cement when I was chided for being so slow. I was misdiagnosed for decades and after firing my most recent primary care doctor and neurologist and hiring another neurologist that I finally found out age 62 that I had secondary progressive MS. And then I found out that my mother had taken her secret to the grave that there was MS in the family. I have constantly had trouble with balance, coordination, and gait in my wish to walk. I have had three years of physical therapy and I constantly practice walking, but I have not been able very well with my cane. I have had others suggest that CBD oil with good results. Hope that you are able to try some of that oil and also have some luck with other means of trying to get mobile,
