Hi im new to this. Help me i dont know what to do

Hi everyone. Im a 21 year old female and a mother to baby girl. I was diagnosed first with MS last year and after giving birth i had a relapse with the blurring of my right eye. I went to the doc and he gave me steroids which helped with clearing my eyes. Its been almost five months to my last relapse and recently since 2 or 3 weeks ive been feeling very dizzy. I went to the doc again and he said i need to get an MRI to know if i have an active lesion or not. I didnt get an MRI yet but im scared and i dont understand what does an active lesion mean. Another of my concern is the medication i will recieve for my ms. What does this medication do to you? I have a little baby..what should i do?..Please help..please guide me.

  1. farheen,

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and flare-ups because of it. I was around you age when I was diagnosed and had a 1 year old and 4 year old at the time. I was not breast feeding, so it helped me make the decision to medicate. There are many different options when it comes to MS medications, it's all about what you feel comfortable with and evaluating your risks vs. benefits.

That being said, each person with MS reacts to certain medications differently, so it's hard to say on how you would react to them. Here is a link to the approved MS medications available. They range from pills, shots & infusions.

I hope this information helps you make your decision. Wishing you all the best.
