New Support Group for Business Owners/Leaders with MS

  • By RobinD

Hi guys! My name is Robin and I’m a small business owner that owns 3 small business in Southern NJ. Along with the many challenges of running my own businesses, being a female leader, and trying to be the best leader I can be, I also face the added challenge of doing it all while I have MS. I’ve searched far & wide for resources for someone like me on how to cope on those tough days when there is work to be done but my body won’t cooperate, or when I just need to stay in bed & find a way to be a leader to my 28 employees. I kept coming up empty so I decided to take matters into my own hands, like the entrepreneur I am, and started a group on Facebook called “Leading with Multiple Sclerosis”. It is open to any leaders out there facing the added challenge of dealing with autoimmune diseases. If this is you or someone you know, please join or pass the word along. I do hope it can be a great help for us! Thank you!

    Hi Robin,
I know you wrote this post almost 4 years ago now. I just found it through a google search. I could not find the facebook group you started. I just launched a meetup group last week. That will have virtual meetings.

I’d love to connect with you because I think like you, there are many of us out there that run businesses and are living with MS.
I hope you see this post.

    Hi Jen and Robin,

We just want to thank you for your posts here! It’s been amazing to see a forum post resurface after such a long period of time! We saw this is a link for a closed Facebook group. Because we can’t confirm the legitimacy and safety of closed Facebook groups, we have a community rule not allowing the posting of closed groups (https://multiplesclerosis.net/about-us/community-rules/). However, since this is an older post thread started before this rule was created, we wanted to make an exception in this case. Please note we are in no way affiliated with any resources shared in the community resources forum. With that said though we just want to say thank you again for posting about a topic that isn’t widely covered! It’s wonderful to see so much support in the community!
    Best,

    Alina, MultipleSclerosis.net Team

Thank you Alina for your support and encouragement. I’m sure there are 1,000s of business owners who live with MS and would like to connect. We just need to reach out and find them.
    Jen
