#CoolDownMS

#CoolDownMS Heat causes extreme redness around my eyes and eye pain. Sunglasses and visors do not help for it is the increased vasodilation and increased temp causing the issue. I try to prevent it when I am outside by wearing neck towels but the exposure must be limited.

  1. I agree with you. My eyes have always been sensitive to the sun even before a diagnosis. It has been a terrible summer. Just a little bit of heat causes me terrible fatigue, massive weakness the pins and needles in my hands, feet and face are way worse. And from the top of my cheekbones to my chin go completely numb including my lips and tongue. I carry gallon bags of ice with me since ice packs don't seem to last as long. Completely miserable.

    1. Yes my eyes are susceptible in the Sun. Mine dry out and of course eye drops are needed several times to fix them.

      1. My eyes too. My face gets red and I'm miserable.

        1. I'm trying to enter for free cooling anything. I have been hot all day here in Arkansas and can't think straight. Guess I don't understand how to do this. Bed time now. Fatigue has me.

          1. I'm so sorry that the heat affects your cognition so much. I don't know much about Arkansas but I just looked up what the average temperature is there in the summertime and basically what I found was super humid and very hot. My heart is going out to you and I hope you're able to stay indoors in the air conditioning. I can help you with entering the giveaway. You can go to our community hub page linked here: https://multiplesclerosis.net/community. On that page to the right you will see a light blue box that says "how are you feeling?" with a little pencil next to it. You'll want to click on that box, type how the heat affects you, include #CoolDownMS in your update, and then click "Post Status." I hope that helps! If you run into any more trouble, please don't hesitate to let us know, ok? 🧡 Kayleigh, MultipleSclerosis.net team
