Cramps

Anyone experience cramps as an ms symptom? I get them so bad in my legs. I can hardly move. I've tried Gatorade, pickle juice, pedialite, bananas, you name it. Anyone else suffer cramps? Do you have any remedies?

  1. That's a great question, . Unfortunately, cramps are a pretty common issue for members of this community. And, even more, it sounds like you have been trying some of the suggestions I was going to offer. Have you tried magnesium? Some people have luck with magnesium supplements or even magnesium lotions. Please make sure you are buying a quality product, but it may be worth a try. Also, here's a compilation of member tips that may be helpful for you -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/tips-for-managing-muscle-spasms-cramping. I hope this helps and that you get some relief!

    1. I'm pretty desperate right now. I will try anything.

    2. , ugh. I'm sorry. I think people sometimes forget how painful and disruptive muscle cramping can truly be. I hope some of the tips from the link I shared work for you. I had forgotten about tonic water (quinine) and one member suggested Flexeril, which is a muscle rub that can be purchased over the counter. Also, arnica cream (it's kind of like muscle rub without the burning/icy sensation) might be worth a shot.

I'm sorry. I know being in pain stinks.

  2. Have had bad cramps & spasms in my legs for 20 years and tried everything. The pain and spasms were so bad, especially at night that my legs would jump up into the air by themselves. I tried Theraworx spray & within a very short time my severe pain and spasms were gone. It contains magnesium and has totally changed my life. I would definitely give it a try. Hope it works for you!
