Gilenya

Anyone had any experience with taking Gilenya? I need to change from Tysabri

  1. I hope others see your question and respond, but until then, I wanted to leave you some info on Gilenya that has been mentioned on our site.
The first one is from Calie, one of our authors. She describes her experience with being on it for 10 years, stopping to have her triplets, and what she experienced when she went back on it: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/switching-medication. This is from a search I did through our forums. It brings up every time Gilenya was asked by community members and the responses they received: https://multiplesclerosis.net/forums?term=gilenya&page=1. I really hope that helps give you some info while we wait for others to chime in. 🧡 Kayleigh, MultipleSclerosis.net team

    1. Thank You

  2. Hi , I've not used Gilenya myself (I am still on Tysabri), however, I've known several folks who have been on it and have done well. Being able to take a pill has extremely beneficial to them. Hopefully some others will chime in with personal experiences. Best of luck with it!

    1. Thank You

      1. I was on it for about 6-7 years. The first 2 years of my diagnosis I was trying to get pregnant. It was fine. I still had relapses though. Nothing earth shattering but I'd have to manage and sometimes take some days off. I'm on Ocrevus now which is so much better. First time I didn't have new lesions. Still have episodes and symptoms but managing better. Overall though its a good drug with little side effects that I could tell.
