Zeposia

My new neurologist would like me
to try Zeposia.. I've been on Copaxone for
7 plus years. I'm used to giving myself a shot every
night. I haven't had any relapses to speak of in
10 years. My question is with Zeposia being a
new med used for ms...I'm worried about side
effects. I have to go for blood work and an EKG
before starting it. My neuro said he's not worried about
my physical ability (as MS as not effected it yet) but he's
concerned with my brain and the atrophy that has taken place
over the 30 yrs I've had MS. I looked up Copaxone and it
is very good to treat MS relapses etc. I also read that
Zeposia also is very good. I'm just worried about what to do.
Any advice would help. Thank you and happy new year in advance!

  1. Hi . I can only imagine how scary that is, to switch from something that you know has been helping to something entirely new and not widely used just yet. Since Zeposia is relatively new to the market, we don't have a lot of feedback about it in our archives right now. One of our advocates, , made the switch to Zeposia from Gilenya last year at this time. Here is here article about it: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/switching-medication. Perhaps she will chime in with her experiences. I am not sure how active she is in this community right now though with triplets and an older child to keep up with. I hope you get lots of responses from the community and that, if you make the switch, Zeposia is at least as effective as Copoxane. Keep us posted if you feel up to it.
