Find Your Fit!

You’re here at MultipleSclerosis.net, reading this site for any number of reasons, and those reasons can be widely varied. It is always helpful to know where we fit in the bigger picture, and I hope to identify a few of those possible reasons.

Reasons to be part of our MS community

Of course, there are many more, but these are the most obvious.

Newly diagnosed

You or someone you care about may be newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and you are concerned as to what comes next. Like so many chronic diseases, there is no clear ‘what comes next’ in the course of MS after diagnosis, but we do know gathering knowledge about this disease is one of the best defenses.

There are several ways to gather this information – our health pages have information that is accurate and reliably updated for the latest MS news. There is also a community of MS ‘experts,’ those of us who live with MS and are sharing our experiences with you, available for our personal insights.

I hope you find something here to help answer the many questions you must have about living with MS. It is critical that you use a website that is based on science and is correct – there are too many bogus bits of information out there that can lead you astray.

Support and friendship

You may not recognize it immediately, but there is so much to be gained by sharing experiences in a community like MultipleSclerosis.net. Either you or someone you care for has MS, and you might be seeking out others with the same condition in the hope that they will provide much-needed support and, possibly, even new friendships.

Some of the best friends I have, I met online through my MS connections. There is so much to learn from each other – whether it be how to cope with daily life and MS, or the ways we have to respond and treat the wide array of MS symptoms. No matter what stage of life you are in with your MS journey, there is someone out there who can relate.  At some point, we all just want someone to listen to us as we need to vent, or even celebrate. Being part of this community helps you build this network of supporters.

Sharing information

Maybe you have found information that you would like to validate or share with others. Perhaps you have a new hack for living with MS that you think would be useful to share. Or, you have questions that you know can be best answered by someone else who has gone through the same experience. Are you searching for answers as to how to find a good MS neurologist or select your disease-modifying therapy based on your own lifestyle needs?

Those are just some of the 'information please' questions you might find here. As we are taught early on, there is no question that can’t be asked when you are surrounded by people who care and only want the best for all of us.

You might even identify with all of these categories, and more, as to how you fit in at MultipleSclerosis.net.  Whatever your reason or need, I am glad you are here.

Wishing you well,

Laura
