"11 days I've been stuck with bedrest. I tripped over my Jack Russell and fell backwards off my decking. At the hospital, I asked numerous times for them to cut my leggings, but they wouldn't. My leg swelled from knee to toes. Once I got home, my friend cut my my leggings to reveal a huge gash on my leg. He photographed it, as the hospital said it wasn't important enough. 2 days ago my doc said my leg was infected, and if antibiotics don't work I'll have to go in for an operation. My doc said for me to put a complaint in. I've been quite emotional about it all. Doc has upped my pain meds bc of the amount of pain I'm in. "
"On the 1st of April I twisted the tendons in my right foot according to the hospital. When I finally got to the physio he said Plantar fasciilis. So I've gone from a chemist bandage to physio taping it up. I finally started using a walking stick, in which the physio told me a couple of years ago to start using.
My doc is thinking of starting me in baclofen for my small nerve neuropathy. What's everyone's opinion on that medication?
Since I had a 5 week bout last November, I'm just not bouncing back like I normally do. Still have a weak left arm, swallow food and choking on drinks, and balance is worse. I can't get into a new spec till November. I'm sick and tired of being tired. "
I know it's frustrating when a flare ends but the problems it brought on don't go away.
Baclofen can be a great option, but, like any treatment for MS, what works for one person may not work as well for another. I wanted to share a couple of stories from our members on this medication. This member found Baclofen to be a good option -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/stories/something-that-might-help. And here is some helpful, basic information on some standard MS treatments, including Baclofen -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/medications-symptoms. There's also some helpful input from community members in the comments at the end of the article. And, here's one member's experience with Baclofen, from the highs to the lows -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/stories/baclofen-spasticity. I hope these links give you some insight into the medication and how it has worked for various community members here. And I do hope you get some additional feedback as well.
