20+ Years Now

I was told by one neurologist that I’d be in a wheelchair within a year, I had so many lesions on my brain & spine. Thank goodness my local neurologist had a different outlook. Yes, my MS was aggressive, with me having 8 exacerbations in one year, but he wanted me in the same physical condition at 80 if at all possible. As well as taking interferon, he put me on the immunosuppressant Mycophenolate.

Learning about what helps me

I use a rollator when I’m out and about to help keep me walking straight, and I certainly don’t fatigue as quickly when using it. I continued to work until my place of employment was closed by the corporate headquarters. I fill my days now with taking photos, doing bead weaving, and traveling with my husband. Yes, I’ve had to give up a few things I used to do, but I’ve also learned things I don’t think I would have otherwise. I choose to laugh, and that makes all the difference. Your destiny will never be found in the rearview mirror. So no point looking back and mourning what you’ve lost. Cherish the here and now. Count your many blessings. Live your life to the fullest you can.
