Bill's MS Story

I was diagnosed in 1988 with relapsing remitting MS.

For 12 years I had a relapse 2 or 3 times a year but I always got better with prednisone. In 2000 I started on Avonex and had no major problems for 8 years. Then on Sunday May 5 2008 I woke up with a hitch in my left leg. The next day I needed a cane to walk. The next day I needed a walker. By Friday I needed a wheelchair.

I was back on a walker in August and a cane in September. Then on February 25 2009 my right leg went out. From then until now March 2013 I have gotten steadly worse.

Right now I can only walk a very short distance on my walker and only stand a very short time. I spend 24/7 in my recliner except going to the bathroom or to the kitchen.
