Diagnosed Late

I was diagnosed a few months before I turned 55. My husband also had been diagnosed with MS about 10 years earlier. Before being diagnosed, I had just taken up running in 5Ks. I did a 10k and almost didn't finish but with the help of friends, I did.

When I noticed my foot dragging

I was dragging my left foot and when I told my primary, she said I probably had sciatica. I just brushed all of my other symptoms off because of this. I did complete a few 5ks after the almost failed 10k. The last 5k I completed was not good; I soiled myself and fell several times before the finish. I did finish.

Not disclosing my MS

Fast forward to the end of 2022, I was put on administrative leave. The reason was that they said I didn't do the necessary documentation. During the meeting with HR, it was brought up that I didn't tell them I had MS but had told a few of my close friends. Now, I am being told I have to go to a fit for duty evaluation/exam. I am trying to keep a positive attitude, but with this latest news, it's very hard for me.
