Numb

I started having vision problems about 6 months ago. I am 52, and now as of a month and a half ago, I’ve been going numb all over my body. I haven’t been diagnosed yet but going in for a spinal tap soon. Any feed back would be great.

Hi BigBenwin2018! You should definitely be sharing this information with your physician as soon as possible, if you haven’t done so already. These are some pretty serious issues that need to be addressed. Physicians use a battery of diagnostic tools to diagnose MS. You can read about there here — https://multiplesclerosis.net/diagnosis/tools-your-doctor-will-use-to-make-a-diagnosis/. There is more to the diagnosis than the spinal tap. Please don’t be afraid to be a “squeaky wheel” to get the testing and treatment you need! And do keep us posted on how you are doing, if you feel comfortable doing so. Good luck! Best, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.

Have you had an MRI of head and/or spine as well? What did that show? I too am 52, and I see a Neuro in a week to follow up on an MRI I had. I have dealt with numbness on and off for years, tingling, buzzing in various parts of my body. MRI showed nonspecific lesions in the brain. Haven’t had an MRI of spine yet.
