Diagnosed as a Teenager

3 years ago, I was 15 and was diagnosed with MS when my right arm went numb. Followed by that my right leg went numb and that continued for 2 years. I have been alone most of 3 years because I have not had a doctor close to where I live so I have not really had anyone to ask if my symptoms were normal. I am on Rebif and it had helped reduce my lesions substantially but causes a great amount of pain, and I hope to be off it within the next few years.

Hi @Hannahgray! I have no answer for you, but, while you are waiting for other responses, I wanted to commend you for reaching out and educating yourself about MS. You are young and MS is a lifetime disease. It is good to learn everything you can about it now so you will be better prepared to make decisions for yourself in the future. If you go to the search box and type in terms for whatever interests you, you will find lots of articles written by our advocates. Those can be very helpful. I just typed in “numbness” and got all these results: https://multiplesclerosis.net/?s=numbness. I hope this helps to get you started. Please know we are always here for you if you need support or a place to vent. Best wishes! – Lori, MultipleSclerosis.net, Team Member
