Applying for disability....

My husband was just diagnosed with progressive MS and he stopped working for the last 6-8 months. Although he's taking Ocrevus his MS hasn't progressed any further, but by the time they caught it, it had become crippling to the point where he uses a walker and has incontinent issues. He has now applied for disability and I wanted to know has anyone gone through the process and at what stage was your MS?

  1. thanks for sparking up this conversation here. I'm sorry to hear that your husband is dealing with a lot of symptoms of MS specifically walking and incontinence issues. While it's wonderful that medications are now available for this community, to your point, sometimes they feel like they're arriving later than ideal for managing his progression.

There are actually quite a lot of articles and conversations on our site here about disability including this one below. But if you type "disability" in the search bar at the top you might find other articles that are helpful for your specific questions and concerns.

That said, I do hope that others will chime into the conversation here as well to add their experience and input.
