Does anyone use CBD oil along with a MS medication?

Does anyone use just CBD oil for their MS, or should we be taking a MS medication as well?

  1. Hi ennssh, I've had a lot of success with CBD oil (you can read about that here, if you want: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/cbd-hemp-how-helped/), however, while it has been helpful for some of my symptoms, I would not trust it to be effective at slowing the disease progression. While the science is there with regards to symptoms like spasticity and pain, there simply isn't the scientific proof yet that it can actually halt the disease. Still, I recommend discussing that with your doctor, I imagine they would agree. I see CBD oil, or even marijuana, along with a good diet and exercise as key tools to use alongside a disease modifying medication (like a tysabri, ocrevus, copaxone, etc).

    1. CBD may inhibit the metabolism of some Rx drugs that also use the cytochrome p450 pathway and enzyme CYP3A4. Check with your doctor first. I am not a doctor but i watched this YouTube video and learned this: https://youtu.be/QYCkVjdgDqQ

      1. , thanks for sharing this information. This is one reason it's very important to let your doctor and pharmacist know about EVERY medication and supplement you are taking.
