Does anyone have bad chest pains that go through to their back?

  1. Those are commonly referred to as MS Hugs. Had them several times a day for several years. That symptom seems to have passed for now. First time was before diagnosis. Thought I was having a heart attack. Went to emerge, they kept me overnight, lots of tests, nothing wrong. hmmmmmmm.

    1. , i have been told they are esophgial spasms. Feel like heart attack. I found taking my Baclofen, and sipping constantly on room temp non fizzy drink, makes it pass faster. Been hospitalized for a week, thinking it was heart. Nope. Ticker is fine.

    2. I had them on and off for a few years, then it finally stopped. Don't look forward to them again for sure.

  2. Thanks alot

    1. Hi ! Here is an article explaining the MS hug that I thought you might find helpful: https://multiplesclerosis.net/symptoms/ms-hug/. I hope you don't get that feeling too often. Please still report your symptoms to your doctor. Though your pain probably can be attributed to the MS hug, you should allow your doctor to rule out cardiac conditions. 1. , I'm sorry that you may be feeling this type of pain right now. It's important to report this to your doctors because it may or may not be the MS hug, or esophageal spasms, or something heart-related. There are so many possible causes of chest pains.

I do see (now) that you posted this originally last summer. Did you ever learn what caused the pain? I hope that you are doing well now.

        1. they never figured out what the problem was because before I was diagnosed with ms I had different chest pain and they just resorted to it being that but eventually it went away and never came back

        2. , I'm glad to hear that it went away and didn't come back. Thanks for the update. Best wishes, Lisa
