Health insurance

I am a physician with MS and just moved to mainland US, NY. My health insurance does not cover my treatment because it is an experimental drug. Should I consider adding Obamacare, Medicaid or Medicare? I do have been contributing money to Social Security and Medicare since I was working in Puerto Rico, a commonwealth of USA…

I am really upset and I cry a lot of the time - I am uninsured and I can't find a insurance company willing to take me on. I do not work, mu husband has a part-time job at Fort Carson they won't give out full time jobs 🙁 My doctor says I have possible MS, I have had a CT scan, an MRI. a Lumbar puncture and various blood tests etc and they have all come back inconclusive. I need to see a neurologist and also have another MRI (which I hate), I cannot afford any of that, I tried to get insured so I can see a Neurologist but the companies say no as I am under 60. I am 58 and feel like an old grouch and a lot of times am depressed with myself and wish I wasn't here. Any help in the insurance dept to help alleviate my stress please???

Hi lindalou77. I am so sorry you are in this position! Mars74 brings up a good point -- you really should qualify for insurance under Obamacare. Open enrollment is going on right now and, in theory, you should not be rejected for pre-existing conditions. You might want to check out the government website and see if any new plans would fit your needs -- https://www.healthcare.gov/.
