I have been diagnosed with MS, I'm from Russia and gay

All three factors are not compatible with a normal life, worse in Russia.
Lack of good medicines (here they give copies), health care and if they find out I am gay, that might leed to bad assistance, because I'm not like normal traditional people.
Are there and specific communities for gay people with MS?
I can speak English and Spanish...

  1. Hi, . I am sorry you are in an area where you feel you can't be your true self, for your safety and health. I understand what you mean by saying 'normal', but I hope you know that there are parts of the world and communities that would treat you as the full human being you are. I am unable to seek out communities in your country or nearby countries, due to my language limitations. But, since you speak English, I did find a couple of potential resources you can check out. There's this cool photo project that has a website -- https://lgbt-multiple-sclerosis.com/. But, even better, they have a link to more resources -- https://lgbt-multiple-sclerosis.com/links/. And, here's a concise article on the project itself -- https://www.mssociety.org.uk/care-and-support/online-community/community-blog/understanding-what-it-means-to-be-lgbt-with-ms. Here's some more information that may help you feel a little less alone -- https://www.mssociety.org.uk/care-and-support/online-community/community-blog/ms-and-disability-in-the-lgbtqplus-community.

I wish I could find more resources in your country, but as you well know, some countries are more accepting of LGTBQ+ individuals.

I know this information may not be too helpful, but I hope you find some useful information and that you can find some online support! And know you are always welcome here. We don't have a large number of 'out' community members and I understand if you want to find a more specific community, too.

I'll be thinking of you and keep fighting the good fight! You have every right to the best healthcare your country can provide!
