Is anyone on semaglutide (Wegovy, Mounjaro, Ozempic)? Have you noticed a reduction in symptoms?

I'm finding a fair number of studies (mice; I don't think human studies have been done yet) and here's an overall write-up:

  1. thanks for sparking this conversation. I haven't taken the medications personally, but hopefully a fellow community member will chime in with thier firsthand experience. In the meantime, is this a medication that your doctor is recommending for you? Was your doctor able to give you any insights they have with fellow patients?

I'm hoping that you get the insight that you're seeking soon so that you can make a decision, if that's what you're ultimately looking to do.

    1. I haven't taken any of those drugs and don't plan to. I was reading an article about early reports that some people who take it not only control their eating, but they are also drinking less. And that article mentioned reducing inflammation, including inflammation in the brain. Well, when I see "reducing inflammation" my thoughts immediately go to MS. So I googled "GLP-1 agonists and MS" and "wegovy and MS" etc.

Came up with the info above, and many others, including this one:

So I began to wonder if anyone in these forums is on one of these drugs and has it reduced their symptoms.

      1. that's an interesting connection. Thanks for making sparking the conversation here to see if any others are taking it. If so, hopefully we'll hear their firsthand experience.

It sounds like you do a great job of keeping up with the latest research. That's wonderful! There's always new developments, so it's really helpful to keep up with science.
