Keep moving

I was diagnosed with MS at age 53 with no limitations with mobility and strength. Within 6 years my Ms advances with cognitive and mobility issues. Now as I get older I Fully understand and emphasize the importance of motion. I still walk with the assistance of a rollator. We are told to do “PT”. I was able to get professional PT. The biggest point made to me was KEEP MOVING !!! I use my rollator to walk outside (weather allowing), room to room in your house/apt. Turn your head up and down- side to side. Punch your fist and arms out, make circular motion with arms, If you are sitting or laying down raise your legs,
move side to side, twist your ankles, stretch you’re foot out. Based on your mobility issues or limitations any movement will help your strength and definitely your mind and spirits. Each diagnosis is unique to you but there are many, many common symptoms.

My montra is “ today I am walking and talking “ !!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with your MS diagnosis . Chris A.

  1. I love this post, (Chris A) and I love that you shared lots of little ways you get more movement in your day. As physical therapists say (in regards to joint health, specifically), "motion is lotion"! You gave me some great ideas for sneaking in more motion into my daily routine. May you have plenty of good days in the coming months and may they far outnumber the not-so-good ones!
