Lower back and ribs pain 😩.

Hello my name is David and I'm dealing with lower back and ribs cage issues. Can someone please help me I'm trying to figure this out.

  1. Hi David, I'm so sorry that you're experiencing lower back and rib cage issues. I can't imagine how uncomfortable and painful that must be. Is the pain you're experiencing more of a sharp or dull pain? Many in the community mention feeling rib cage issues very similarly to the MS hug. I'll link an article here that goes into all the details of what that feels like if you aren't familiar - https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/everybody-love-a-hug-but-not-ms-hugs-what-are-they. Many in the community mention it feeling like there is a really tight corset or binding around their rib cage. Sometimes it will come and go and other times the pain will last for a while. Unfortunately, we aren't medical professionals so we can't diagnosis or give medical advice but I'd be happy to share more information on the site that people have shared if you want to give me more information. I would highly recommend speaking to your medical team if you haven't already to get their input on your pain. Thinking of you and hoping for a low pain evening for you. 🧡 Kayleigh, Team Member

    1. My pain when it comes to my rib cage it comes and it goes for example like if I'm laying down on my side right or left it begins to act up and I get a disturbing feeling to the point I have to figure out a way to get up and try laying down again but my rib cage issue seems to be going away now I waiting for it to come back again.

      1. , it sounds like you could be dealing with the MS Hug, like Kayleigh mentioned, although I can't say for certain. Our members find ways to manage their hugs. Some use heat, some use ice. Some use deep breathing or stretches or even dietary changes. It really varies from person to person as to what works. Here's anothe article on the hug, with some member comments at the end with how they manage their hugs -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/squeezing-ribs-pain. I would definitely talk to your doctor about what you are experiencing, if you haven't done so already.

And, most of all, I hope you quit experiencing this particular symptom!
