At the age of 27 I had to kids ages 9 & 5. I was working full-time, taking care of my family and started feeling numbness in my feet & hands. I put off getting medical care due to lack of Health Insurance. It took me getting Vertigo, Optic-Neuritis and bad fatigue to seek help. I ended up with total numbness from the chest to my feet and could not feel my arms. It was only when I feel in the bathroom that we went decided to go directly to the Emergency room Fathers Day 2004. I was kept 8 days and put on a serious steroid drip while in the hospital. I had to learn how to walk again and strengthen my core. I praise GOD for helping me get through this horrible time. Today I am 47, a grandmother of 2 and I am on SSDI. My family continues to support me in all I do. I volunteer, walk the dog and keep up the house. Most days are great but as you know some days are a challenge. As of today I only fight the fatigue and have regained all other functions.
