MS Hug

"An MS hug feels like a band, or girdle-like, sensation tightening around your waist. People sometimes describe it as annoying. Others say it can become quite painful."

I've heard about and have experienced this symptom, but only once or twice in my midsection. I often feel as of I'm experiencing this in other body areas. For months I've been feeling like someone is squeezing my feet and shooting shots of novacane in them. Often times it's so uncomfortable I just stay off them for the day(or weekend, lol). It's been about 2 months and before this I couldn't feel my hands for two months, I guess I'm just wondering, Has anyone else ever experienced the "Hug" in areas aother than ur waist/midsection? Sometimes it's hard to explain symptoms so I compare them to other things I've felt.

  1. Hi, . I know other community members have mentioned experiencing "hugs" in other parts of their bodies. I don't know if it's 100% the same, but that tight hug sensation can occur in many areas, as it is sometimes caused by a very strong muscle spasm or tightening of the muscle. So, in many locations where muscles are, well, that hug sensation can potentially occur.

Have you mentioned your foot problems to you doctor, just to be safe? It's always a good idea to make sure that something else (besides MS) isn't causing the problem.

Do you have any tricks that help when you experience the hug in your feet?

I hope you get a nice, long (very long!) break from the hug!
