MS Weird Symptoms Imagery

For MS Awareness Month this March, we’re focusing on unusual MS symptoms. We need your help picking the photo that you feel best represents the weirder symptoms to use as our theme imagery!

Which image do you think better represents weirder MS symptoms?
Sensory overload (left image)
Skin sensations (right image)

Let us know your pick and why in the comments below!

  1. Skin sensations ~ I feel "hair" on my arms and through my fingers quite a bit, and nothing is there. I always triple-check because I do have long hair, so it's possible it's real! My happy place

    1. I've lived in Denver for 42 years, so I'd say I qualify as a native! The Colorado Rockies aren't a great baseball team, but win or lose Coors Field is a great place to be! 😀

    2. ,
Denver is a beautiful place to be!
Those Rockies are going to put it all together one of these years.
Thanks so much for sharing the pic, it certainly is a great stadium.

  2. Because it encapsulates how i can look like everybody else, but feel weird.

    1. ,
Many here would agree with that feeling.
Thank you for joining the conversation.

  3. I can rarely go on automatic to get things done. Sometimes I feel that I have to relearn tasks eg the computer or the best way to make a boiled egg with soldiers!

And if things pile up eg post arrives, more than one phone call, a parcel is delivered, the cat wants something, then it turns into a ‘Can’t walk and chew gum at same time’ sort of day unless I decide to write tasks down and take it all very slowly ……

    1. ,
You may be surprised at how many here can relate to what you are describing.
Making lists/writing things down and taking things slow and steady is a great approach.

  4. I chose Sensory overload because even though I experience both, I can control the “creepy crawly” skin sensations with medication fairly well, however, the Sensory overload is an obstacle in and of itself. For example, if I attend an open book lecture or a sewing class, the bright, noisy fluorescent overhead lights, the noice of people talking while in groups of close proximity, the noise of food service workers doing their jobs for us all cause immense sensory overload. My eyes can’t focus, my brain can’t focus - I hear the other group talking/laughing and I turn to hear what they’re saying rather than my own group. I just want to turn my wheelchair around and head to the ladies room for some peace and quiet. Same at home: open concept kitchen/family room - t.v. on with the news, conversations between family members, meal preparation is noisy, water running, bright overhead task lighting all take their toll on my ability to concentrate and function.
THE PHOTO SELECTED VERY MUCH REPRESENTS HOW WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND ME AND MY BRAIN! Very good graphic!

    1. I like the second one on the right mainly because I thought it was better artwork than the one on the left. Other than that I really did not have an opinion right now - either one makes a point.

    2. SAME! And you described the whole package exactly as I would have liked to but could not at this moment in time!
