My M.S. ‘journey’, so far. (I am 73 years old and having a GREAT life!))

As most of you realize all too well, the ‘M.S. obstacle course’ is a long, steep and winding mountain-climb. The path is strewn with boulders, fallen trees, torrential downpours, lightning strikes, hail, tornado-winds, etc. It is decidedly not fun. HOWEVER, life can still be very, very good! Does this sound corny? It might. However, if you are a recent recipient of an M.S. diagnosis, don’t despair. Your life is NOT over; you are now traveling a road that was not on your previous personal roadmap. I know this to be true since I have been there following my RRMS diagnosis at age 29. Yes, this road can be horribly scary, no MS-er will argue that point. Nonetheless, The M.S. Society is loaded with helpers armed with all manner of ways to help you on your personal journey. The Society also boasts an enormous supply of references written for new members and their families and friends. It is all well-done and helpful. I would encourage you to review what’s available on various M.S. sites. I’m certain you will find something helpful, even soothing. M.S. is merely a life-detour; it is NOT a dead-end!
