Weird sensation like a tens unit is on my leg..

Long before being diagnosed I had the sensation of wearing a tens unit on my leg. It was like low voltage electricity buzzing through my leg in rhythm. Just like a tens. It would last about 2 seconds, stop, then buzz me again. This rhythm continued a long time and then finally woul go away on its own. If I told a medical professional they would look at me like I had two heads. I also told them my thighs would go numb if I had to stand and talk to someone. They just stared at me. I went decades before being diagnosed.
