Newly diagnosed

Hi

I'm new to ms, I got diagnosed a month ago. I have a question if you don't mind? I have achy limbs on and off every day, I know this is not a relapse as my consultant told me a relapse is when something gets taken away, eg feeling etc. When I have a relapse, will those symptoms come and go like my achy limbs?

Thank you in advance.

  1. Hello
    Thanks for reaching out.
A recent diagnosis can certainly be overwhelming.
Although we cannot give medical advice over the Internet (for your own safety), it's important to note that MS symptoms are different from person to person. These symptoms depend on which nerves are affected. Symptoms may worsen, or new symptoms may appear during MS flares/relapse. (These can also be called exacerbations or attacks.)
I thought I'd share this article from one of our patient leaders who describes that achy, heavy feeling in his limbs: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/brain-working-but-body-doesnt-want-to.
