Numbness and burning
Does Anyone Else Experience Extreme Burning And Numbness When Walking For Extended Periods. My Dr Said It Has To Be Something Besides My MS.
I was diagnosed at 48 with RRMS when my upper legs started burning and staying numb all the time but it was worse when I was on my feet which they also say isn’t characteristic of MS.
you don't say if the doctor is your MS doc or a GP. I really feel stressed when I hear someone say something 'isn't characteristic of MS' because there is no definitive list of symptoms. The list seems never ending. If this doctor says it isn't MS, was there a recommendation for some tests to see what else it might be? Circulatory problems come to mind for me, but then again it just might be another 'weird' MS symptom. I have had nerve conduction studies twice on my legs and repeated MRI’s on my back and it isn’t that and studies were normal.
just wondering if some type of walking aid like and AFO or walker gives you any relief since you say it happens after an extended period of walking. It might be worth trying PT for some answers. hang in there, Laura Yes! I was diagnosed in 1998, but had since 1985. The burning, numbness in my case…is MS. Those symptoms are not uncommon. Hope you find more answers and maybe a new neurologist.
