Painful and numb right foot

I have often wandered if its true that if a person living with diabetes type 2 and relapsing Remitting type MS both that experiences just in the 1 limb my right foot who feels the tight band like around the bottom of the foot and total numbness most hours of every day so much that you have to wear good soft cushion socks or slippers is due to MS and not the diabetes type 2.? I have had several EMG tests done by my same MS doctor and even two other neurologists for several opinions that I am not having problems with my diabetic neuropathy in my right foot caused by diabetes since my tests did not confirm diabetes neuropathy as the cause for this same issue ongoing since 2005.

  1. That's interesting, . Anytime you have more than one chronic condtion that affects multiple organs within the body, it can be hard to pinpoint which one is causing a particular issue. Many of our members deal with numbness and other sensations in their limbs, so you are not alone in that! We also do have at least a couple members of this community with diabetes and MS, although I don't know how active they are on this site right now. Hopefully, they will see your comment and chime in with their experiences. I did want to share one article on the topic of numb and tingling legs that I thought you might find interesting -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/numbness-tingling. I know it can be such a frustrating and frankly, annoying issue to deal with, especially when you can't pinpoint the cause or stop it from happening.

Please know you're not alone and I wish you some relief from the numbness this weekend!
