When I was first diagnosed, I went to a lot of presentations and to a support group. I learned a lot. If the groups were geographically closer I would still attend. But, it seems most of the ones I hear about are Over a 1/2 hour drive. I just don’t have the energy for that most of the time.

Hi Nancy. Thanks for sharing your experience! The geographical distance of support groups can really be a barrier to attending! – Kelly, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member

I attend dinners given by drug companies. They have talks by a Neurologist and a patient on the drug at each meeting. They have questions and answers. These have been very helpful.

I no longer attend drug dinners as I don't like any mainstream drugs by Big Pharma and most people I know with MS just attend dinners to get the free meal, not to hear about the drug.
I do like to attend intellectual talks about MS hosted by neurologists in the healthcare system. It was there that I learned about the OCT test that looks at your retinas and is a good predictor of how your MS will progress.
