Hi LindaRogers! I wanted to make sure I answered your question to the best of my ability, so if I misinterpret your question, please just let me know! Sometimes, people with MS may experience epileptic-type spasms, called paroxysmal symptoms, which you can read about here -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/symptoms/paroxysmal-symptoms/. Also, it is possible to have epilepsy and MS. If you have been diagnosed with epilepsy, there are extra precautions to consider when taking certain medications to treat MS symptoms. Also, one of our contributors deals with an issue called "partial complex seizures". She writes about it here -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/manage-fairly-uncommon-partial-complex-seizures/.
I hope this answers your question and please let me know if you have further questions!
Best, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.
