HI Tess! You might try contacting your local(ish) National Multiple Sclerosis Society office to find out about support groups meeting in your area. Here is a link to their contact information -- http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/CAL. Since Van Nuys has many zip codes, I just typed in one and here is what it pulled up -- http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Resources-Support/Find-Support/Join-a-Local-Support-Group?catids=0&aid=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&sw=20&zip=91404. I hope this helps! I *know* you are wanting face-to-face support groups, but the NMSS does offer other options for those that are homebound or not within driving distance of a local support group. They have Peer-to-Peer counseling, which I describe as penpals for the digital age -- http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Resources-Support/Find-Support/Connect-with-Peers-One-on-One. I hope you are able to find a local group meeting that works for you and your schedule! Thank you for reaching out to the MultipleSclerosis.net community! Best, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.
