Well there's something that doesn't happen every day!

I'm running around the house doing chores, among which is to wash the spilled soup off my new-to-me Jones New York dress. So I'm looking for the care label and I realize I can't see the label. There's something off about my vision. Huh! So I'm trying to identify the problem. Keep my eyes focused on the nearest wall. OK, looks like a big Greater than sign in the upper left edge of my field of vision. Kinda pixelated with bright and dark spots. One eye or both? I cover one eye and then the other. Yup. both! Bet it's an ocular migraine. Haven't had one of those in YEARS. I ask Dr Google if I should go to the ER. Nope! And now I'm trying to find a way to share this event. Here's the perfect place!

Any of. Y'all have ocular (aka. Visual) migraines? I've had them since my diagnosis in 1981. Fortunately they only occasionally hurt or cause other migraine problems.

We dodged a bullet, my friends!

  1. I think you should go to your doctor.

    1. Hi ! As you know, I don't have MS, but I have had ocular migraines twice in the past year. The first was so stunningly beautiful, I kind of didn't want it to go away. It was a kaleidoscope of colors that were more vivid than anything I had ever seen in the corner of my vision. It lasted about 30 minutes and then disappeared. The second one was just two weeks ago. Perfectly aligned black squiggly lines filled my field of vision. I could still see and nothing was distorted. They were just there. My doctor isn't concerned. She says they can happen to anyone. I am just glad my first experience was a good one so I didn't freak out the second time. I've never had any other symptoms with it. I hope you don't get anymore, but that if you do, they are as beautiful as my kaleidoscope. Best wishes. - Lori (Fellow Team Member)

      1. Lori, thanks, dear, that's a lovely sentiment! Your experience aligns exactly with mine: no pain, no problem, just visually stunning and gone in about half an hour. I only once had a real migraine with the ocular migraine, and that was unpleasant. But only once in 75 years? I can take it!

Glad you enjoyed yours -- mine was gone in half an hour also. Take care and keep up the great work!
