"Once upon a time, I was told "losing weight will help your symptoms get better..." and here I am almost 100 lbs lighter, and still in pain. Someone lied."

  1. congratulations on the 100 lb weight loss, that's a significant accomplishment that I'm sure took a lot of daily effort to achieve. That said, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't bring the outcome that you wanted of alleviating pain. That's certainly frustrating. Living with MS is not an easy road by any stretch of imagination. I'm glad that you're connected with a community of people who can relate to the frustration. On that note actually we do have quite a few articles here about pain. I don't if you find any one in particular to be more applicable than another but I'm sharing the link below in hopes they can be of help to you.

  2. , I hear you! I am a bigger sized gal and doctors sometimes act like losing weight will cure all that ails me. While being at a healthy weight is wise, I wish people would quit thinking it will fix everything.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I hope you are successful at keeping the weight off. And, I am sorry you are still dealing with pain problems.

  4. I got back from the doctors a little while ago. It turns out, I was 420 back in Feb, 2023, and as of today, I am 294! 14 pounds to go before I am at my goal weight!

  5. Thanks for the link. I found out today, after I made my post, that I have officially lost 128 lbs since Feb of this year. We did however find a new issue. He doesn't know if it was pre existing or if it just developed but, it looks like I may have angina. We have to wait for more chest pain to test it... with nitro spray... but, he really thinks that is something new. I swear, I am falling apart.

  6. , woo hoo! That's awesome! I hope you are proud of yourself. I am sure it was not easy to lose weight. I hope those last fourteen pounds come off with relative ease.
