Weight Loss Battle with MS

My story begins back in 2014 when I was diagnosed with MS. Afraid and disappointed, I started to pack on the weight. I reached an unhealthy weight of 420 pounds (I can't believe I am saying that.) I made two big changes.

My changes changed everything

I got out of a bad relationship and conquered a pill addiction. I have been sober for 8 years now. I started walking with my beloved dog Toby. I ate sensibly. I sought out some help from a therapist who told me that my weight loss could not be done without surgery. My neuro told me I would not be able to walk when I turned 40. I got back home from those appointments and had a talk with Toby.

My best friend helped me when I needed him

I told him that his momma wasn't going to give up and asked if he would help me. He so helped. I weigh 180 pounds now. Toby is still pugging on at 12.5 years old. It is possible to do what seems to be impossible. Took me four years to lose the weight. No drugs or surgeries. Always start small. Weigh yourself once a week. Don't read into numbers. And always modify exercises to your strongest ability. Stay strong and warrior on my fellow MSers

Me at 180 pounds happy
