Hi all, please can someone give me advice?

Hi all, please can someone give me advice? For the last 18 months, I’ve been going downhill and when trying to get to the bottom of my symptoms, it tends to lead me to MS. Initially, it was my hands shaking, pains down my legs, I noticed that I was speaking but not making sense at times.

Now I’m 18/24 months down the line and things are progressing worse and my GP has diagnosed me with fasciculation but listening to what my body is telling me every day it’s something worse. He did say not to worry so much now but when I start to fall over and lose my balance to come back to him. I’m getting very frustrated by this now as it has been going for so long and it’s starting to get me down. Thanks for any replies, it’s really appreciated.

  1. Hi , so sorry to hear what you've been going through. To me, it sounds like you need to start seeking another opinion. You should make an appointment with a neurologist, who will want to run some further tests (especially an MRI). Some issues a GP just isn't qualified to deal with. They should be open about that, but unfortunately, no all doctors are great doctors (https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/doctors-reminder-advocate-yourself/). So that's my advice, see another doctor, preferably a specialist.

    1. Devin, thanks for your time to reply, it’s much appreciated. I had an MRI scan about 12 month ago now and also had my legs tested with some kind of electrical method.
Lately, the last 6 months or so I’ve noticed that I’m getting worse. I have a constant faint tremor in my body, my legs feel as though I’ve run a marathon and sometimes I have to dig deep just to get up. My calf’s are constantly moving as though there is something under my skin. This makes that water move when I’m relaxing in the bath and it’s been like this for 18 month and is constant. My face feels as though it’s crawling, mainly the left side, mouth, nose and eye lid. I have a constant twitch in my muscles that appears to travel to different muscles on a weekly/daily basis, it varies. More concerning is that I feel like a zombie all the time. Sorry, I thought I’d elaborate more to give you a better idea. Thank you

      1. No problem, most definitely see a specialist, a neurologist. A GP really isn't equipped to deal with those sorts of symptoms, no matter what they think. They simply don't have the background or experience for it. You want to see someone who deals with that sort of thing all the time.

      2. Thanks Devin, I will go back to my Drs for a referal and see what happens. Take care
