Head mri

I have rrms been diagnosed since 2010.Been having mri's for years. The last couple of years, I find myself getting so much anxiety around having a mri. Was due one in October, and I cancelled it. As soon as I get the appointment letter for the head scan, my anxiety gets really bad. I have had cbt, waiting for further sessions as it has been noted that I suffer with severe chrostaphobia. I am due a mri in a couple of days, and my anxiety is through the roof. I have been given 10mg of diazepam. It will be nearly 2 years in April, since I had my last head scan. I know I need one, as I am on Tecfidera. I just don't know if I can go through with it, as my anxiety is that high, I don't even know if I can get to the hospital. I have also never taken diazepam. I take clonazepam for tremors. The main thing I don't like is the head coil. Any advise please ? Has anyone found diazepam helpful for mri's? Thankyou for any advice.

  1. First off, I am so sorry for the delayed reply, .

How did your MRI go? I know they can be really disconcerting and emotionally uncomfortable for many people, so you're not alone in feeling anxious about the procedure.

I hope the MRI went well and if you had to reschedule it, we'll be happy to be your cheering section as you plan for the next one.
