Head jerking

I had my first UTI a couple of weeks ago. It definitely flared up my symptoms. They seemed to get better but now are getting worse again. I was awakened last night with my head jerking side to side and now have a headache in the back of my head. Anyone else experience something like this?

  1. Hi, ! As a frequent flyer in the UTI club, you have my sympathies. I know firsthand how unpleasant they can be. And I am so sorry the UTI triggered a flare. First off, we do recommend contacting your doctor whenever you experience a new or worsening symptom, for your safety. Especially when it comes to headaches, I tend to err on the side of caution. That said, MS can definitely cause headaches and you can read about one person's experience with MS and headaches here -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/cause-headaches-symptom. As far as the head jerking goes, I know we have had at least one other community member experience this (you can read their post here and I happen to be the moderator that replied to them -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/forums/jerking-1). Your head jerking may not be related to your MS, so please do consult your physician. Head jerking doesn't seem to quite fall in the category of spasms or tremors, so I always hesitate to chalk it up to MS without further information.

I so hope the headache and the jerking go away very soon!

    Best, Erin, Team Member.
