Internal Tremors

Hello all. I experience internal tremors when I fall asleep sometimes. I will drift off to sleep but then wake up shaking inside and heart beating quickly. It's weird. Just wanted to know if anyone one else dealt with this? Or maybe describe their experiences?

  1. , I have not had any experience with this particular issue. If you haven't done so already, I would talk to your physician about what you are experiencing, just to be safe. There is such a thing as "resting tremors", which tend to occur when a body is at rest. You may want to consult with your physician to see if this may be what you are experiencing. I know that all kinds of sleep issues can occur with MS, so I hope some of our community members can chime in with their experiences as well. In addition to member feedback, I thought you might want to check out this piece from one of our contributors -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/poor-sleep-quality-routine. I do hope you get some helpful insight and maybe some tips, as well! Best, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.

    1. I get those, but not like I did, I use cbd, it helps me sleep better, I don’t choke nothing like I use to do, and I am able to do more. My ms is a full time job, but the cbd is making my problems easier.

      1. I am glad you found something that helps. Many of our members and advocates have reported that marijuana products help with the spasms that get in the way of sleep. Thanks for sharing! - Lori (Team Member)

    2. HI @Sunshine09! You are far from alone. Lots of people with MS report internal tremors as they are falling asleep, especially in their legs. As Erin suggested though, it is always best to talk with your doctor when a new symptom surfaces. Here is an article from on of our advocates about his experiences with night time tremors. https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/tremors-spasms. I thought it might interest you. Best wishes! - Lori (Team Member)
