Advice Needed To Cope With Internal Tremors, Spasticity, and Pain

I had a relapse about a week ago and now I feel like my body is shaking on the inside but the shakes cannot visibly be seen. I also suffer these spasms in right leg that feels like a burning sensation and then my left locks up and after about 15 seconds everything is back to normal. I am looking for help in dealing with the pain. My doctor prescribed me some medications but doesn't seem like it is working. I have been only taking the medication for a few days now.

  1. , I am so sorry you are dealing with a relapse right now. If you haven't done so already, I would definitely check back in with your doctor, especially if the medications prescribed don't seem to be working. That said, some medications do take some time to really "kick in".

    1. , just checking in. How are you doing? Are you still dealing with a relapse? Gentle Hugs, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.

      1. Hi Erin, thank you for reaching out I appreciate your concern! I am having new flare ups that I have never experienced before, lately whenever I do things with my arms or my body gets overheated I have really bad arm spasms which makes my arms hard to move. They go completely numb and they feel tingling and they last for almost 2 hours. I've literally done things like put clothes in a dryer and had spasms and I work at a warehouse and I go up and downstairs and depending on how many times I go up and down the stairs I have spasms. I've had so many at work and now I'm to the point where I'm feeling really down due to feeling like I can't do anything without these spasms happening. I feel like it's getting in the way of me working, I'm trying to get accommodations to avoid the stairs and to get extra breaks when I need to cool down but I still fear these spasms happening. My doctor has put me on baclofen so I hope that helps.

        1. Hi . That sounds very stressful. Many people find that baclofen is a huge help with spasms, though it can sometimes make you tired. I hope it helps you and that are able to continue working. I am sure you are frustrated. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

        2. , I am sorry you are still dealing with flare ups! And I do hope your workplace is willing to provide the accommodations you need to safely complete your job. And I really hope the baclofen works for you!
