Medical bracelets

A friend of mine suggested I get one so as I'm not mistaken for someone who is intoxicated. Does anyone wear one? What are the costs? Thanks.

  1. Hi, !

That's actually not a bad idea, for many reasons. If you are ever incapacitated, a medical id bracelet can help first responders treat you accordingly and also possibly alert your emergency contact. Once of the best known companies in the US is Medic Alert and their products vary in price, but options under $30.00 exist -- https://www.medicalert.org/. And here's another option -- https://www.americanmedical-id.com/. Really, you should be able to find something that meets your needs and preferences (I, myself, do not enjoying wearing any jewelry or watches, so I like having other options).

I hope this helps and you can find something that works best for you!

    1. I wear one that has a Q code linked to my medical information.

      1. Oh that's cool that it's Q code linked! I haven't heard of those before. Thank you so much for sharing that! 🧡 Kayleigh, MultipleSclerosis.net team

    2. Hi,
I have been wearing one since I returned to graduate school in NYC in 2019. It gives me a lot of confidence, especially in a large city. Make sure you keep the information on it current.

      1. I have a RoadID tag that I can put on my watch band. It's a lot more subtle than a traditional MedAlert. They have medical IDs too, with a lot of variety/colors/materials. If you have a smartphone you can have it go to your medical information so if you need to show someone you have MS, it's there.
