Could I still have MS if the brain MRI didn't show lesions?
An MS Doctor that my sister in law worked for sent me for a brain MRI because she told him of my symptoms along with the unusual symptoms. But when my PCP read the results, there were no lesions. I have all the symptoms including the wet sensations, the electric jolt when I move my neck, the burning in my skin and scalp.
I have spinal lesions. Have you been checked for that. MRI dont always capture a lesion. Hang in there.
Hi jackjack! Our members have shared some good suggestions. It's good to make sure that neither your brain, nor your spinal column show any evidence of lesions. If you do not have any lesions, many physicians will consider you, for the time being, as not officially diagnosed with MS. This may not always be true, but this seems to still be the general rule of thumb within the medical community. And no insult meant to your PCP, but you may need to see a neurologist to get the level of expertise you require. PCPs are amazing medical professionals, but sometimes you need a specialist to see things that they are trained to find. I do hope you get some answers and don't quit pushing for further testing! How long did it take? I have so many symptoms? Loss of sensations in legs, muscle spasms, right side weakness, teigeminal neuralgia, dysphagia, numbness, tingling, fatigue, stiffness, pain in arms and legs, negative emg and clean MRI, lumbar puncture didn't show much of anything. I am miffed but fading away, dr is prescribing dose packs of prednisone which is helping but I've never prayed so hard for a lesion so I can get a diagnosis for treatment.
