MS Joint Pain

Does anymore get severe joint pain associated with ms? My knees, back and hands are in so much pain right now

  1. Hi @Briemu79. Have you discussed your pain with your doctor? Joint pain is not uncommon in people with MS. The loss of control or strength in certain parts of the body can make you move differently and put new stresses on your joints. Here is an article about physical therapy and how it can help with MS-related joint pain: https://multiplesclerosis.net/treatment/faqs-about-physical-therapy-for-ms-patients. But don't assume your joint pain is caused by MS, especially since you are feeling it in your hands as well as in other parts of your body. People with one autoimmune disease are prone to developing others. You might want to consider a referral to a rheumatologist to rule out Rheumatoid or Psoriatic Arthritis. I hope you get more responses here along with answers and relief. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Hi Briemu79, where is the pain in your back located?

Have you cut right back on sugar, maple syrup, honey and simple starches like white bread etc? Eliminating them altogether would be better but hey we are human after all. You'll find this will help a lot.
